Studio Wisp. Now with a Facebook group.

To help expand, I’ve set up a group page on Facebook. In theory, this might help get this group a little more well known, which is good for me, and anyone I’m working with.

So if you’re feeling a little generous and have a Facebook, then a big thanks for any friends you link to the page.
And for you kindness, know that we send you thanks and imaginary hugs and smiles.

On another note, I’ve been working hard to get more of my projects done, and with the end of Term 1 drawing near, there’ll be a date where I upload a bunch of new video’s on my Youtube page. So stay tuned readers, for there is a lot more to come. 😀

I do apologise

I seem to have made an error with setting up the next chapter in Samurai 2020 to publish automatically. Or perhaps something went wrong during some recent WordPress maintenance? Regardless of which, I’ve rectified this and the next chapter is up and ready.

Section 2 – Part 1

Will keep a closer on eye on this from now on to prevent such a recurrence.

A thursday post, with possible Tuit’s to come?

Projects are fated to jump between working and dying on us, which at the moment is the case. But that doesn’t mean I want still be working to get material to put up here

A small group of us are working on a Podcast/Vid Blog that will teach new students coming into our 3d Teachers class, how to do the basic operations of Lightwave3D (the program out TAFE uses). It’s a fairly large E-learning piece which will mean delays on other projects, such as a recently mentioned VFX project. But that doesn’t mean they’re dead, for after all, those projects have a date as well.
So during these busy times, I will upload other things instead to keep you occupied, and in a few weeks time, a bunch of new projects VFX projects should appear on my Youtube page with links to it from here.

And who knows, my groups client may allow us to upload the tutorials as well. Depends if she wants to keep the information all to herself or not. But if she lets us, then those of us in the group willing, will get them up, so that those that come along here may learn a little basic 3d too.

Will keep you updated again soon. 😉

In case you’ve come here via the old domain

For those who have arrived through the domain, http://www.silentwisp.wordpress.com, take note that we are now officially Studio Wisp. The new name is now a permanent addition, and I feel also bares far more relevance to the work I do, than Silent Wisp.

Also, the footage for the shoot went well. Though it will probably be a little harder to track than I’d hoped. Which may mean dong a reshoot. But, practice makes perfect, and hopefully next time I do it, I wont have the rest of the my class mates doing the camera work while I do the actions, so I can set things up on my own, how I want it without distraction.

But, it should be done soon. And when I get the sound effects I need, I’ll be uploading a couple other pieces to my Youtube account as well. Will update again soon.

An update! Plus, new VFX project underway

Hello out there!

So there’s going to be some changes coming about. Most notable, will be Silent Wisp changing to Studio Wisp (I understand in a recent post, Imentioned doing this last weekend, but, my teacher wished me to use research, logo designs, etc, as a folio, so the idea of “Studio Wisp” was discussed in that brief). Will update it to the new Studio Wisp shortly.

Also, my Flash and Web Design teacher is getting to the point of helping us make our pages unique. One of things he mentioned was making a little introduction interface as a main page. Among this should be some custom web design, which I assume means creating templates as well. If I feel able, I might just create a more custom feel to this website by making my own template, probably during the Mid-Year break.

On a lesser note, I’ve set a timer so that current novels will be posted up each week on Friday night at a designated time of 6pm (AEST). Why Friday at 6? No real reason. But it gives people something to read each weekend now.

But all these little updates aside, the more important update is current projects. The VFX project has a go ahead, which means getting a chance to test out our classes new Sony EX1, and do some green-screen and motion tracking work, while putting some new VFX tricks I’ve been learning from Video Copilot to the test.
If all goes well, this project should be up an available later next week.

Silent Wisp may change to Studio Wisp

There’s always been a little side debate about the title for my studio name. Of course, back when I made this and decided to continue using it, I was only 8 and never sat down to really think of something that would stand out, but also be relevant to what I’m actually doing.

So after sitting down and wondering about what would work, I decided to keep “Wisp”, because a wisp, in the essence, is an entity, a nurturing, or even malicious spirit, that can have the power to mould and make something grow and become something else.
One can think of VFX, animation, design, etc being on a similar pretence. We as designers take something, and we harness our own creative power to mould it into something new, exciting, innovative and eye catching (and will satisfy our clients needs so we can get paid.)

But Silent…. I’ve thought about it, it doesn’t work. It makes no sense, and I can’t see how I can wind about a meaning to fit it into this industry. So, I’m changing it to Studio.
Which means I’ll be purchasing it as a web domain.
Which also means, this Webpress will become my main web front. Which will also hopefully make this page more visible to people.

So to the point. Silent Wisp is soon to become Studio Wisp (sometime this Friday when I have the time to sit back and work out how the deals and contract works).

Side Note: Now I’m no longer sick from Fever, I can get back to a VFX project I planned on doing. Will post updates on it’s progress soon, so don’t forget to check back. 😉

OMG, Novels!

So, I decided that to improve the content of this site, I’d need to diversify. So check in the contents section to see my novels. I’ll be putting up just the one for now, and then deciding what to put up next. I likely wont put up those I intend on getting publishing contracts for, but I do hope that by putting novels up here and getting a following of people who like my work will enhance my credibility.

So please, take the time to sit back and read a book, leave a comment (constructive criticism very welcome), and do check back later to see what updates I have.

(With my newer works, I’ll put them up one chapter at a time, hopefully, once a fortnight. Please note, these will be very raw drafts, as opposed to work I did ages back and have either edited already, or don’t intend on playing around with any more).

Hello out there

So this is the start of my new blog, which, like previous site experiments will contain links to works I upload on Youtube and DeviantArt (or various others in the future, like iStock).

If all proves successful, I may even open a new section where I’ll put up novels, both the very old ones I first started when I was 10, and the latest ones (which could one day get published!)

On a larger note of plausible success, this may even become a front-line for major upcoming productions. (which it just so happens there is a large student production I’m story-boarding right now).

So welcome to those scanning across to see what I got, and hope you visit again to see what’s going down.
(Until I get more material up here, here’s my old Buisness Site )  http://www.silentwisp.webs.com/

Regards
